The GM at Gateway CC Denver just posted this. Anyone else’s local GCC closing?

It is with great sadness that announce Gateway Classic Cars of Denver will be leaving the Denver market and closing its doors. Please join us for our LAST Caffeine and Chrome Car Show September 27th 9am - 12:00pm. As always, coffee and donuts are on us. Let's make this last event one for the books and have the best turnout EVER! We'll be raffling off some goodies and accepting donations for the tragedy at Evergreen High School The Denver team would like to thank the Colorado car community for accepting us into your lives and schedules. It has been an absolute honor serving the Denver communities and helping to fulfill thousands of classic car dreams worldwide. We want to thank all of the local car clubs, patrons and visitors that supported us these last 8 years, and we will truly miss seeing every single one of you. Our last day will be November 15th. What a pleasure it has been! See you all down the road!!!”

There's one about 40 miles from me. Its still open. The last time I looked your not buying anything muscle related for less than about 70k. If the Denver store is the same, im not surprised their closing.

Is that the place with the photo ads with that boob blond woman?

Southern Indiana? They have a super bee I'm watching.

Just another puppy mill of cars. Beware !
They marketed two GTXs I had history with, one decent one I owned for seven years, and another not so nice one which I rejected after a personal inspection at another dealer a few years earlier. In each case, the asking price was well over 50 percent more than I would have offered, knowing what I did.

I think Vanguard is the most overpriced dealer, then Gateway and Smoky Mtn. It just sucks we lost a great spot for a monthly cars and coffee.

i think Volo takes the cake for most over priced
They sold my fifth GTX, a couple owners after I parted with it in 2021 to buy a Hemi car. Their asking price of $89K was one of the highest I've ever seen for a stock 440 hardtop, but the car was far nicer than most of what becomes available on the open market, and did well on the auction circuit earlier. Seemed to back up the Hagerty assertion that "colors can make a huge difference in pricing and desirability." Factory red with pewter interior wowed most spectators when I showed the car.

I paid a fraction of Volo's ask when I bought the GTX from a private seller in 2015, and that's why I've only bought one of my cars from a dealer. In that case, the guy was a high end GM collector, who was using the dealer license to manage the cost of his collection, and sold the one owner GTX as a favor for a neighbor. Hard to believe today, but in 1991 the price seemed high at $10,000.
