Disaster and a no go. Nothing like drilling holes in a freshly painted car. Going to walk away and decide what to do. This was a repop tail light panel from AMD and was questioning if that might have something to do with it. Might just fill the holes and not add it. Not happy and the wind has been taken out of me.

Hang in there Dave. I think walking away is a good idea. A good night's rest will bring a different perspective!
 
Based on your experience & @Richard Cranium's note above, I'm going to take my finish Panel into the shop next week. Let them make sure it's perfect during the bodywork phase. I'm still tracking to get it back all painted by end of the year.
 
Took a break from the charger. The Bee had an oil change and washed. Took it out for a ride.

You are overthinking the drilling of the taillight panel. Mark the holes,use a sharp 1/8 th inch drill bit for the pilot holes,then drill the holes out to 1/4 inch.
 
Also if you just need to "move" a hole slightly one way or the other in sheet metal without making it larger, a step drill works good, just push on it the direction it needs to go.
 
The tail panel trim has generous slots to move it up and down and side to side should one of the holes be a little off.
 
You could sell one part from your impressive collection and get a new phone.

Installed the drive side exhaust bracket and rear shocks. Driver and passenger door hardware done. Next is glass,had to buy the rear window belt molding clips. 8 clips for $65 Crazy. I should of bought a RoadRunner. :lol:
