Eldebrock 650 carb issues.

Can't get this thing right. 69 Roadrunner that I replaced the 383 with a 440. Had problems on both motors. I have used the service manual are set to factory specs. I know it came with a AFB but thought that settings my be the same on the floats, jets etc.

Problems: when driving down the road it stumbles. Put in nuetral and clear out and it runs fine for about a mile and starts again.

Thoughts?

That could be the problem. Its coming from a new stock fuel pump.

I have seen stock replacement pumps put out upwards of 10# (a new pump from Car Quest)

Makes sense it would make it stumble at 6.5.

I did take the fuel lines off from the carb and turned the engine over and it really shot out big time. I actually have a race car too at 7.5 pounds, but the engine is a 632 I run in top sportsman.
