What’s everyone running for a transmission dipstick tube on a A/C car with a big block? I bought a locking one from summit but it’s right up against the blower motor on the firewall and useless.

I assume you are talking about the transmission dipstick, as the blower motor is on the passenger side. Why not start a WTB ad for a stock 727 transmission dipstick?

I need a locking dipstick to race.

I just got this one for my 70 satellite with a 426 hemi and A/C but haven’t installed it yet. Had the exact problem you are describing.

My local track likes to see a locking dipstick even in slow cars. Mine came from Mancini and was an Allstar IIRC. Rubbed against the firewall in my Duster and was very difficult to install. The last time I had the trans out , the tube gave me trouble installing and I just went back to a factory tube. You can use the locking dipstick in a stock tube. The length will be incorrect. . I trimmed the new stick to the length of the factory one and put a small notch in it indicating proper fill level.
