The Maverick came out in 70. The 302 was first available in 71.
"The standard 1971 Ford 302 V-8 with a two-barrel carburetor was rated at 210 horsepower and 296 lb-ft of torque. The 302 engine was a V8 with a 4.00-inch bore and 3.00-inch stroke and a 9.5:1 compression ratio."
The HP 273's had 235 horse and could wax their azz. They should have taken notes from the old Hypo 289.
