WTB I am in the beginning stage of looking for a 1968 Superbee to purchase.

When I got my 70 charger rt it was in topeka ks and I'm in Detroit, Mi. I hired lemon squad, an online site with inspectors in most major cities. They cost around $500 and do an incredibly detailed inspection with about 80 pictures and a checklist of all the areas of concern with wear or damage noted. There were a few odds and ends they missed but on the whole it was a great value, far cheaper than me flying out and maybe flying back. Opened up a much bigger market for me too.

Thanks for this info! I have heard good things about this service from multiple people, and no one has had anything bad to say about them to me so far. Sharing your experience is much appreciated!!!

Where in Virginia? I’m in Virginia. I Used to own a 68 Coronet 440 Superbee Clone. I know this car well.

I never got a chance to find out, all she said was Virginia. I asked the sales lady to set up a call so I could ask questions, and after not hearing from her for 3 days, I called her back. I think she had forgotten that we ever spoke. Once she got it together she called the owner to arrange a call only to find out the car had sold. This was a consignment company, so I could not have direct access to the owner, it all had to go through a salesperson. It was a light green car and was apparently owned by a woman. From the ad for the car, it said they had just installed a new engine and TCI automatic, only had 300 miles on it, but needed "finishing". That is what I wanted to ask about, but never got the chance. Thanks a bunch for the email Dan, very much appreciated!!!

Personally I went with the 68 Coronet 500 model which could be ordered with an HP 383 2bbl or 4bbl. I wanted the 383 4bbl (H code) and I think the 500 and R/T have one of Mopar’s coolest tailends.

There is a 68 Super Bee for sale on Craigslist. It may be just what you're looking for but, it's in Maryland. It looks pretty darn nice & only asking $30,000. It IS a 383 auto. car. You may want to check it out.

I WISH the B body solid project car market was soft.

Absolutely I will! Thanks for the lead!!!

I just saw a complete 68 Superbee that has been off the road for a couple decades. It’s a project tho, but the first 68 I’ve seen even up for sale in quite awhile. I think it was $10k, but that represents the current condition. It’s not a rust bucket, it just needs to have decades of dormancy reversed. I’ll see if I can find that ad and post it here, just in case someone wants to save it.

One reason might be that a dealer in Cadillac, has taken over 70% of all listings on the three or four major national listing sites including RacingJunk.

The listing says the car is not in Cadillac, but does not say where it is.

Those two things are very off-putting, to me at least.

I hope you can find the ad!

This is the same car from my original post. The consignment business is in Michigan, the car was supposedly in West Virginia. This car is sold. No longer available. I think maybe it did not sell because it looked like too good of a deal maybe???

I wish that guy would at least give the state that the car is in.

I'm not calling about car after car, when I see them, only to be told they are in Montana, or California, or Canada.

I would call about FL, GA, and maybe AL, SC, and NO cars.

This business is Classic Car Deals Consignment Dealership and they supposedly have 20,000 plus cars on consignment. The location of this car the last I heard was West Virginia. This is the car that was in the link in my original post and it has been sold. This is the issue with looking for a car on the internet, you cannot tell how long something has posted and no one removes ads when cars are sold. It is a huge pain in the *** to look and look, find something , call and find out it was sold 3 years ago.
