E63…..383 4 Barrel HP Only tells us 383-4bbl. It does not tell us WHICH 383-4bbl and associated horsepower rating came in the car.
D21…..4 Speed manual HD
WM31….Dodge Super Bee 2-door coupe WM21
H9G……383 CID V8, 4-barrel carb, 1969, Built St. Louis MO
243139…..VIN Sequence
Y3…….Body Color Cream (Dodge)
Y3……???? St. Louis plant does the upper and lower colors twice even on monocular cars.
HWT……Interior Door Frames. Typo. Should be H2T (see the relation to the "W" and "2" on the key board) indicting interior trim level, seat type and color. High trim level, vinyl bench seat, tan in color. See link below for sample.
T7……Inner upper door frame paint tan to match upholstery.
331…..Scheduled production date (SPD) March 31, 1969. Unlikely to be actual assembly date.
375366….Order sequence number VEHICLE ORDER NUMBER. (VON) The only thing it is sequential to is order number 375365 if that one was even issued.
A62….Rally Instrument Cluster Package
J25….3 speed wipers
M21…Roof drip rail moldings
M46….Simulated Quarter Scoops
N96….Fresh Air Hood
R11….Radio Solid State AM two watts
V8X…Black Bumblebee Stripe

The Bee’s 383 4bbl are the 335 HP engines and the 330 HP version came in models like my 68 500. I’ve got some Chrysler info somewhere stating what made the extra 5 hp. The cam and something else.

Installation application and related horsepower ratings very by year.

The 335 horse assembly was the standard assembly for Super Bees. In 1968 and 1969, Super Bees with a/c got the 330 horse assembly.

There is a B body 335 horse a/c assembly for 1970.

We can document this via broadcast sheets and 69 and 70 Lynch Road plant fender tags.

The main difference between the two assemblies is the cam and related valve train.

...and the 335 horse motors were orange, the 330 horse A/C motors were turquoise.
Info I have says the orange motors came with Carters, the turquoise with Holleys.

What's the story on windage trays...Magnums only?

Too funny the document and info was from you back in 2013.

Was the HP not used in the chargers in 68' in a 383? Replies on here said they were in roadrunners and superbee's only but my fender tag states my 383 is an hp.
The 383-4bbl 335 horse HP version was not used in 68 Chargers.

It's common for on line decoders and many sources to list the 62 engine sales code number as the HP. This is incorrect. Code 62 only tells you the car had a 383-4bbl, it does not tell you which 383-4bbl the car received. Remember there were three different versions of the 383-4bbl in 68; the A body version, the 383-4bbl 330 horse used in C bodies, Chargers, all Belvedere and Coronet badged models, and Road Runners and Super Bees with A/C and the 383-4bbl 335 horse engine used exclusively in the Road Runner and Super Bee without A/C. See the picture below. All three of these are 383-4bbls and all code 62 on the tag and H in the VIN but they are three different engines

I'd li'e to hear more about the "new free-breathing heads and intake system" in the GTS version.

Generally true for 1968 (all assemblies turquoise) and 1969 (Orange vs a/c turquoise) but carb applications can vary. It's difficult for most general publications to dive into details and explain the nuances of each year and application.

If we look at broadcast sheets, we can see the 1969 B body 383-4 925 (four speed) and 926 (Automatic) 335 horse orange assemblies got CHOKE 45 indicating a Carter carb as we'd expect and the Carter carb number. The turquoise 899 assembly rated at 330 horse and automatic with a/c got the 56 CHOKE and CARB 38 Holley but the 897 383 4 four speed with a/c assembly gets the same Carter 45 choke as the 335 horse versions with a 98 Carter carb.

Meaning here's a 1969 turquoise assembly application with a Carter.

I've not looked at the '68s and 70s with this much detail meaning other examples could exist. I just haven't looked at it.

Yes, all 1968 BB engines got those. So why do they only mention it on the A body engine write up?
Why compare the A body to the GTO?
The guy doing the Dart section was a better copywriter?
More space therefore more text needed to fill?
Hard to know.
