FSM says 15 1/2 to 18 1/2 pts. Which is it? Have a Moroso deep pan, there's a 2 quart add on, plus the #6 lines to radiator and then a small remote cooler in front of the radiator. I have one qt in the converter already. My question is really about the FSM quantity.

Im thinking you will be at around 13/14 quarts with the deep pan.

The convertor is the big variable.. Stock the was 10 3/4" & 11 3/4"convertors small convertor = less fluid... There's your 1.5 quart difference... Deep pan = more fluid...

Thank you for your answers. So I believe that I will probably end up in the 10 1/2 to 11 1/2 qt area. Will try 11 or 11 1/2 qts for the start up, and check it as soon as it will idle. This is all new for me, just swapped out a 4-speed. New Hemi build, so there's going to be alot going on all at the same time. Pan has drain plug if I go over.
Thank you again.
Dadsbee, you need a cup of Mouse milk!
You are probably the only one here besides me that knows what that is! lol.
May you always have favorable tail winds.

If you have 1 quart in the converter, I'd put in another six quarts, fire it up to circulate it thru the trans, converter, cooler and lines.
Shut it off after a minute or so and check the dipstick. Add I qt at a time , refire, until the level shows on the dipstick.

Supposed to be checked hot, idling in neutral. :drinks:

I have about 21 pts in it. When I fire it, it will be on jack stands. The trans has been dyno tested, will keep a close eye on it.
Thanks again everyone!

I'll be surprised if there's no fluid on the ground in the morning.... Normally you put in 6 quarts or so, fire the engine with the shifter in neutral, dump in another 3-4 quarts then start checking level... When you start the engine the fluid gets pumped into the convertor.... It holds about half the fluid... If you dump all the fluid in without starting the engine the fluid level in the trans can get higher than the vent..
