In 2004, I owned a Super Bee that was used in the Rumble Bee TV commercial. Chrysler put Hemi badges on my 383 car. So joking, I said it's the only factory Hemi clone without a Hemi. At that time, I was the Editor for Mopar Alley car club and very active in the scene. After the TV commercial, I got involved with Chrysler marketing and helped them debut some new cars. The first was the 300C SRT. For this, I was able to get over 50 original Hemi cars and my Super Bee to the Los Angeles International Auto Show on Press day. The Hemi cars were used as shuttles for all the press to ride to a Sonic that we took over for this event. Following the success of this turnout, they asked me to get a Daytona and a few other "show" cars to another event in LA. Some of you may know of Restorations by Julius. It was the man himself and his red Daytona as the star of the show. Chrysler then used his car in the Daytona Truck commercial.

My Bee was featured in the September 2004 Mopar's Collectors Guide and in the Hot Rod magazine photo contest. I was also asked to bring it to several car shows to be a featured display. The funny part was that the car was rusty, and nothing was original. An original 4-speed car that sported an automatic and Gear Vendos overdrive. Originally a B5 blue car, painted yellow. 4 wheel Wilwood disc brakes. Fuel injection, and on and on. It needed a full restoration when I owned it, but I never had the time or money to do so.

At one point, I was laid off and needed to make my mortgage payment. I sold the car to a guy in Washington who intended to restore it and enjoy it. I lost track of the car after that. Hopefully, he kept it and is enjoying this semi-famous car.

Fast forward 20+ years, and I bought another yellow Super Bee. This one is an actual Y2 yellow Bee with a column shift. I sent off the details to Galen Govier to see what he can tell me about it.

Here are two pics. The one with the 6-pack hood was used in the TV commercial, and the ram air hood is my new one.

PS, I'm looking for a front bench seat for the new car. If you have a lead, please send me a message.
