one of my long time friends is a flat earther........

The pictures of a bowling ball are flat. I've actually used one (a bowling ball, not a picture of one) and it's not flat.

Why believe evidence. Sailors had for years been telling the landlubbers the world was round. Then they reported rogue waves. But they were only discovered in 1995 by the scientific mob. And now they still bugger up what the sailors had been telling them forever about rogue waves. It is a lot like the armchair critics. The churches managed to lend credence to a lot of bizarre bunk.
In 1908 Admiral Taylor told us that waves travel at 1.34 times the square root of the distance between them.
Most surfers know that bigger waves are further apart, and travel faster. 12 to 18 miles per hour.

and I just found out today

he's done all the research, has all the evidence, and will argue till he's blue in the face........

I didn't have time for the full lesson, but I do remember these tidbits......

Antarctica is a giant wall of ice that surrounds us, and no one is allowed there....

if anyone attempts to fly to Antartica, F16s will come out of nowhere and escort you away or shoot you down if necessary........

the global warming nuts are freaking out because if the ice wall melts, all the water will fall out.......

I told him I had to go, but we will continue this discussion at a later date :fool:

Send the flat Earther guy this video and tell him to start listening at 13:57

Why is this even being discussed ? Absolutely the dumbest thing I`ve ever heard !!!
Has to be " all" B.S. , no one is stupid enough to believe this !!!
seriously, with all that's going on in the world today...mental disease seems to be evolving into "what I want to believe" not just mental disease from a brain disorder. the need to belong to something for group attention, just another avenue of narcissism

I don't think so.

LOTS of stupid, nearly stupid and "easily fooled" folk in this world.

maybe, but you'll notice it's not just about being fooled or stupid, they desire validation of their beliefs from others who don't believe.

Perhaps so.

Who wrote this movie, anyway?

True.

Also true.

Some people are exceptionally gifted when it comes to reveling in their own stupidity.
