The car I’m talking about is my 66 Charger. It’s ratty looking, loud, and is, in a word, angry. I love it. But I don’t think it fits into any category… neither of us do I guess. I go to various car shows and people literally turn their nose up at it, “When you going to fit it?” But then there’s that one kid that loses his mind over it and says, “That’s what batman would drive” – both are fun for me.

It has the engine for a drag car, with a lot of HP, 4800 stall, and a race tranny. But it also has large wilwood all the way around with QA1 suspension, so it handles like a house fly, but has CalTracs in the back. It’s 4.10 sure-trac, but a GV underover, so it’s neck-breaking out of the hole, but will run on the highway. The lights work as does the dash, but I have a digital dash covering it.

I wanted to build a muscle car, and I ended up making something that may not do one thing great, but it does a lot of things really good.

Oddball?

To each, his own, as the old saying goes. I think we here are all oddballs of some sort, but , so what. As long as you enjoy the car, have fun and don't worry what others think.
It's fun to be different.

We're all a oddball in one way or another. You built your car the way you wanted, not how someone said you should've built it and in my opinion that speaks volumes right there. Keep at it.

My car is considered one of the ugliest cars ever made (there are even videos about how ugly it is)... don't care.. fun to drive and i enjoy it.. why be normal?

Who cares?
I did the same thing
I built my car the way I wanted it
it may look a little better than yours but i modified whatever part I wanted to change
it runs 11s and when I get a mind to run 10s it will

It's awesome.

But don't you get tons of heat and slip with the high stall converter and overdrive?
Those two are kinda opposites.

Friend of mine in high school had a 66, many fond memories riding around in it listening to the James Gang Rides Again.

Love it! I have one of each - a princess '68 Coronet that doesn't get beat on, and a ratty old hag '73 Charger with faded paint, mix & match interior, some cancer on the quarters and flaking chrome. She's getting a stroked 400. She'll be the rattiest thing in Wayne County, but something you don't want to face when the light turns green. Don't change a thing, brah!
