I somehow missed this whole thread and the car. I have worked in that town since 1986 and have been in that warehouse many times. I have bought two cars out of there as well. Had I seen that one I surely would have gotten it. My first car was a 73 with a 400 and that would be close enough for me! Though I certainly wouldn't have done it near the justice you have!
So I decided to figure out why my "restored" carb was leaking terribly at the throttle shaft. I constantly had a puddle of fuel on the drivers side intake. I tore it down thinking bad float, mis-adjustment, or one of the inlet seats trashed. It all looked good. Floats were the right height and inlets stopping as expected. When I pulled the throttle body I saw the crap under the drivers side bowl. Pressed my thumb on it and it crumbled. The passenger side was the same way. The jet was just spinning in the bowl. I am surprised it ran so well. I bought this carb years ago on Moparts after the seller had "issues" I assumed is was just not knowing how to dial one in.
I had a couple spare TQ's so I stole the body off one and got it all back together.

As soon as I read your description, I knew what was wrong. These did this crap in the 70s, it's why I stay clear of them, but since it's original to your car, you don't have much choice. We used to use epoxy and seal them up that way.
My glass guy came today to replace the front and rear glass. We found problems under the originals that I now have to fix. 1 step forward and 2 back...
Oh no! I guess you didn't have them out when you redid the car? You'll get it, but be careful of that beautiful paint.
No, was trying to keep this one on a low budget. After all said and done I could not deal with the DA marks and heavy scratches on the glass. So here we are...

No holes, just crusty. I will get it fixed up. Just more time when I could use it elsewhere…
Got the crusty area taken care of. Good cleanup, Silver Bullet, primer, base and clear. While I was at it I fixed the scratch I did when trimming the vinyl top.

I wish I could hire Jeff.......dude's got mad skills!
Maybe when I retire from my day job????? I do plan to do some work for local Mopar guys when I retire but body and paint is not one of them.
New glass is in.
Front bumper assembly is done and installed. Still need to refinish the grilles but needed to install them to align all the brackets.
