When the big show of the year comes and goes, for me....it sometimes feels a bit sad that it is over.
The build-up to it, the event itself....and then it is just an event that we relive in our memories, pictures and videos.
Out west, the Spring Fling is our Big One.
For you guys, this event and the one in Ohio are your must see shows.
I saw a video on YouTube an hour ago where there was a building with a bunch of classic Dodge trucks from the 70s. Last year, the wife and I made it to the Carlisle show. We clearly missed a few parts of it because I don't remember a building like that one. I remember a big tent with the survivor cars, I remember a white building that had grandstands on the north side but inside of that was rows of vendors selling various auto related trinkets.
We only walked about half of the swap meet, maybe 2/3 of it at the most.
On Sunday last year, I felt the impact of the show and was a bit sad that it was over. I got to see some FBBO guys that I've chatted with for years. As much as I love my home out west, I wish that I lived closer to the car guys that I got to meet up with last year.

We were all set to go this year. Had airfare, rental car, hotel, and show registration. But had to cancel last minute in June. But we are planning to go next year again. Hopefully we will see you and Mary there.

My daughter and I did it for the first time last year and are hooked. Did it again this year.

We miss it every day, thousands of like minded genuine generous people.

Not only is it 5 events, but spread out over 6 days, you get to see the country, and meet people from 'all walks of life.'
Makes one realize we're all more alike than we are different.

There's a whole story behind these pics, but just a few of the people we met along the way, literally on the route last year.

I did the Power Tour in 2023. I'd love to do it again but the timing and schedules just haven't worked out for me.

It is amazing the stuff you see, and you get to meet lots of great people too!

California used to be THE state where Hot Rods were everywhere but something changed.
The original Power Tour is back east, easily 2500 miles away. We have a much smaller version of Power Tour out here. Maybe I'll look into that.

Fwiw, Power Tour 2026 was Joliet Il to Tulsa OK.

Tulsa is the same distance to LA as it is to my house, roughly 1,400 miles.

We clocked 4k miles total round trip.

If you love to drive a hot rod, of any vintage, make, year, whatever, with 8k other hot rods, get out there while you can.

On my left, celebrity guest Bob Miller, who sold me my namesake GTX in 1983. Over the years, he turned down several opportunities to buy the car back at a substantial discount from market. He's been a great sport about it, and comes to Carlisle every year to suffer abuse from those who know the car.

I was just thinking - can you imagine if the show was this weekend instead of last? Driving out there in an old Mopar (with no AC) and the windows down with all that wild fire smoke? Then walking around the fairgrounds in all that smoke? Whew! We dodged a bullet.
