The car is this way when I bought it and once I start tearing into it, I won't be able to drive it for like a year because I am very limited in time and money... I just wanted to get one burnout before I start disassembling it.

Not driving it at all... It has no exhaust pipes and I'm told that I shouldn't even be idling it without exhaust... Could damage valves? My intention though is 4000 RPM burnout, chirp second, and cruise at 60 mph.

Yes, it is in a very sorry state. I intend to do all those things but I just wanted ONE smokey burnout before I began in earnest. I only have a few hours a day to work on it and I was put under the impression that it "should" run "as is..." Will keep the group up to date. Thanks everybody.

I am new to this and learning as I go, and boy, it's brutal. I basically look into the engine bay for 5 minutes and then go to the internet for 4 hours, and then back to the car... I got this 1969 Dodge Charger that originally had a 318 and over the years, and somebody jammed a 440 into it...

I Always wanted the 1969 Dodge Charger since I was 8 years old. I finally got one at 52 years old. Unfortunately, It's more rust than car and the engine is an unknown 1978 engine 440 and doesn't seem to fit quite right in the 318 car that this was originally. I am a shade tree mechanic at best...
