I had to use this type caulk in new construction. It will fill a large gap and I believe it will work for you. Building/fire codes can be pretty tough so I think you can trust this product.
Maybe a ejection seat triggered by a heat/ flame sensor would be more exciting. Especially in a hardtop!

My answers do not refer to OEM restorations (much more advanced systems exist today).
#1: I like to build my own.
#2: The OEM bulkhead connector is fine with OEM electrical loads. With vastly increased loads, I would use a grommet.

I still have a 440 I rebuilt in the early 80s. I found a similar crack in it. I veed out the crack with a grinder and filled it with JB Weld. I hasn't leaked in decades now.

More negative caster steers easier but, tends to wander at speed. Too much, steers hard at low speed but, steadies that wheel at speed. We must have specs here in previous threads.

My eye doc made me a set of all bifocal corrected for my astigmatism. I liked them so much I ordered another pair. I keep one in the house for use on the computer and one stays in the garage for up close jobs and welding. Got the cheap, clunky looking frames and spent less than $200 for both...
I also did the center only. I was installing a fuel cell, so I did not need attachment points for a tank. Had a friend fab some sheet metal with rolled ribs.
