In case anyone read my post, I installed my new harness today and found it did have a 12v source for the choke as I had asked for. I mistook the connection for something else, and until it was on the car realized it was what I wanted.

So I was hoping the issue would be in the engine harness, and I ordered one from Evan’s Wiring. I put it on today, and I’m STILL GETTING 14v TO THE COIL!!! Man I convinced myself this was going to fix and was so disappointed to see nothing had changed! Pic of reading taken while car is running.
I was in the process of ordering a harness when I came across your post. I thought it was a great idea to add a power wire for an electric choke. I emailed him, and asked how much the added choke wire would cost, and he said the entire harness would be $100. I said great and ordered it.

If you go to your local weld supply, they sell something called a “cutting tip cleaner”. It’s about 5-6 bucks and good for cleaning small orifices. For harder to reach areas, electric guitar strings should work. A pack should be about 5-6 bucks too, and they’re usually about 2 1/2 feet long...
