If you’re still using the existing studs, I believe it’s ok.
From my understanding, the fear is when you use the studs that are on a spacer and not through the hub itself. Because then the load is distributed onto the studs vs the hub itself.
Thanks for all your help! Went well!
Does anyone have any pics of a manual trans crossmember? I’ve put it back both ways, and one way the rubber support bushing didn’t line up right, and the other way the cross member doesn’t line up right.
Of course I forgot to take a pic before taking it...
That's a tough one cause as you said, to each their own.
How is the rest of the car? If it's for the car in your profile pic, that car looks pretty stock (wheels, paint, interior, etc..) Maybe that'll help you decide?
Don't think you'd go wrong with either option though.
I am removing the 4 speed in a 67 GTX. Got everything disconnected, but just wanted clarification on where to support the engine while the trans is out.
I currently have a block of wood under the oil pan, on the sump (deeper part of it), right by where the drain plug is. Is this the best place...
Ya I can see 4 fitting but I just hope they're not so close to each other that it prevents working on them.
And good point, I can see a lift taking up more room. I know some 4 post lifts have casters on them so they can be moved. Not sure it that can be done with ease though.
Yes, I believe my...
You're definitiely right how every foot matters. Thanks for your specs. With one car you must have a dream amount of room to be able to work on projects!
Seems like from what I've been reading above (all very helpful), 3 cars is doable, 4 makes it very tight. I would get a 4 post lift for some basic maintenance/additional storage. That might be the way to get to 4, so not be able to have 4 cars in a row.
Seems like overhead storage should be a...
Correct, I would go bigger if I didn't want to get into variances and whatnot. 1000 is somewhat of a limit.
Thank you! This was very helpful!
What type of doors would you go with? 2 double doors?
How many cars can you fit in your 24x36? Assuming yours is 36 wide?
Not sure a basement is allowed. I'll look into that. And thank you for the roof idea.
How tall is your building? The area for overhead storage is a good idea.
Ya I was originally thinking 40 wide by 25 deep to max out the 1000. I can see how having more depth would be benefitial. But then...
Hello All,
I asked about garage building in a prior thread (Garage Planning Questions) and everyone was very helpful!
I was hoping to get people's thoughts on the following:
I am allowed 1000 square feet, and 16 feet tall at the tallest point.
I would like to be able to fit 4 cars and have a...
