So for everyone who chimed in and provided some advice I want to thank you. I was able to get the bike components repainted. Its not perfect but its perfect enough.
I have seen this many times, it is not critical at the moment. I'd fix it at some point but your car isn't going to fall apart if you don't. It is a good indication of how much these cars flex, a set of torque boxes and sub frame connectors will fix it not to mention make the car handle WAY better.

Aaron - good progress, unfortunately I cannot help you with your non-firing situation but I would caution you to not to push too hard. I know you want to hear it run, but it would suck to damage it in the process.
That assuming that the tach is wired correctly as it is now. Look at the back of the tach, there should be 1 wire leading away from it to the firewall going into the engine compartment to the coil. If that is connected along with perhaps a 12V wire (not exactly sure how it is to be connected)...
