    electric fan

I’m using the champion 4 core radiator and their twin fans and shroud on my ‘70 GTX with a 440 in it. No issues with fitting at all. Are you using a large single fan? My car runs cool here in Texas in 100 degree heat at 70 mph on the interstate with a 3 speed 727 and 355 gears. Prior to this, it...

Also added 4 core aluminum radiator and twin electric fans. During cam break in and running it at 2,000-2,500 rpm for 30 minutes, it never got over 190 degrees.

Yep, power port 240 heads, comp cams 491 lift, comp roller tip rockers, tti headers, 1 7/8”, H pipe and 3 inch exhaust. It runs GREAT!! It’s a stock bottom end, flat top pistons, 800 cfm Edelbrock carb, 2200 stall converter and mopar electronic ignition. I added a hemi mechanical fuel pump as...

    Shop Recommendation in DFW?

I have not. I only know of 1 other Mopar guy out by me. I seriously need a shop that can tune my car. I think I’ve got distributor or carb issues.

If you find one let me know. I’m in Denton.

Cam swap and engine clean up

I swapped out my “purple shaft” 509 cam for a comp cams 491lift 236 duration cam. Edelbrock recommended a less duration cam to help it at low speed driving.

Any idea what these are for?

I’m pretty sure they are for a ‘70 Hemi Cuda, 4 speed in red. You should probably ask $5-6k a piece for them at your nearest swap meet. Just saying.... seems like every trivial piece like this at a swap meet is super over priced..... I knew it was an alternator piece but that’s it.

    Finally starting

Near Denton. Small world. I’d like to check out your project. I plan in taking everything to the big swap meet at Texas motor speedway in April and sell it. I don’t plan on ever putting my car back to “original”. It’s more fun like this. The brakes are all rebuilt (they are drum).

    Aluminum heads worth it?

I just upgraded my otherwise stock 70 440 (.40 over and a 509 cam) from cast iron heads and intake with Trick Flow Power Port 240 heads and an Edelbrock Performer RPM intake and TTI 1 7/8 headers this winter. I just got it running and, man!!!! Night and day difference. It’s got flat top pistons...

    Finally starting

I’m finishing up my 70 GTX. I took a bunch of factory stuff off of it. Suspension, brakes, heads (440), intake, exhaust manifolds, radiator, AC pump. The car drove good stock but I upgraded it. The heads (906) only have 1000 miles on them since rebuilt the engine. The only suspension pieces I...

I love Nicks Garage. Always interesting to see what works on the Dyno and what doesn’t. I also love Freiburger and Dolsich on Engine masters.
