edit: i managed to get the inner springs for #8 out. Struggling bad with accessing remaining plugs. Mainly plugs 3, 4, 5, and 6. Cant really squeeze between the headers and the body from above. still super tight from below. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Well, pulled the cover off. Nothing looked out of place as far as I'm concerned (upload photos).
Cover wasn't being rubbed against or anything unusual like that. Rods don't look bent. My diagnosis may have been off. Sounds like it may be coming from more center of the engine beneath the intake...
