This is the one needed for a 68 Charger. Those other ones won't even fit in the pocket on the door pad, diameter is too big.

I believe that style started in 1969. Do you have an idea where I can pick one up like that? I can find the other style, but not that one.

The nut I have just has a flat back on it, no shank. I would really have to push hard to get the threads to grab.

I push the remote mirror knob through the door and upper pad and the threads aren't long enough the get the retainer on. Even if I took the black push nut off I wouldn't have enough threads and the cable holders hit the back side of the panel when you try to move the mirror. So, the push nut...

Did you cut through the upper part of the bolt? I would think the blade would get pinched from the pressure on the upper part of the bolt?

Oh yeah, duh. Lol And I got it mixed up. That swivel isn't year specific it's model specific. It's only on the chargers.

I thought about that. I just don't want to drill the holes then after I mount it I don't have the full range of travel and the rods are binding up. I don't know if I should mark holes in the locked or unlocked positon. Guess I'm just being over cautious because the car has been painted already...
