Price $100 pick up in San diego only. I have a newer/replacement b body fuel tank that I removed to install an Aeromotive tank. Tank is in great shape, no rust, sending unit is there. Not sure what brand it is, it was in my 69 Super Bee when I bought it. Filler neck not included. I have it up...

440 Source MELONIZED intermediate shaft gear

That makes sense. Yeah washers seem like a less than ideal solution, especially on a spendy build.

440 Source MELONIZED intermediate shaft gear

I feel like it would be useful (maybe for members considering this gear in the future) if you could post the dimensions of your gear. I understand it won't work for you but it would nice to know how it compares. It seems like the 440source gear vertex_jeff has would work.

69 Super Bee EFI Conversion Plan

Just wrapping up putting a terminator x stealth in my super bee, I went with the Aeromotive stealth tank and 340lph pump and set it up on an MSD solid state relay (didn't need to do this but I had the installed the tank when it was still carbureted). The switched 12v source for the relay and ecu...

440 Source MELONIZED intermediate shaft gear

Yeah, you are talking about the chamfer on the shaft at the top of the slot correct? Is the gear height and shaft depth roughly the same?

440 Source MELONIZED intermediate shaft gear

The gear has a small chamfer, the shaft/slot does not.

440 Source MELONIZED intermediate shaft gear

Copying this method with the Hughes shaft/gear Hughes melonized 1.540" (gear height) - .140" (depth to top of slot) = 1.400" Also measured the depth from the top of the gear to the bottom of the slot which came to .439"

440 Source MELONIZED intermediate shaft gear

I was thinking if the gear was able to move up and still be meshed with the gear on the cam it would not be timed the same due to the gear being helical. Like when you drop the gear in and it rotates as it meshes with the cam gear

Would the distributor be out of time once it moves up as well?

440 Source MELONIZED intermediate shaft gear

I was thinking the same thing, just the load to spin the distributor. It seems like a bigger concern could the gear/shaft moving up to fully seat into the distributor shaft could be the bigger issue and cause timing issues, like furious70 mentioned. I could also be thinking about it wrong.

440 Source MELONIZED intermediate shaft gear

Are you able to verify if you get the same ~1.38" measurement @Vertex_Jeff got? The shop saying it was very different from the hughes one makes me think it has to be that measurement being different. Last week I was up in the air between getting the 440 source shaft or the hughes and ended up...

440 Source MELONIZED intermediate shaft gear

Do you have a way to measure the distance from the bottom of the gear to the top of the slot the shaft sits in? It seems like that would be where the difference is based on what the machine shop is telling mopardemon

Any chance you have any photos of the tunnel massaging you did for the GV? I have been mostly happy with the Passon OD trans but have been missing have 4 regular gears around town and have been keeping an eye out for a regular hemi transmission. Also, have you ever driven a manual trans with...
