How Loud are Adjustable Rocker Arms with Hydraulic Cam?

I have the XE268 and mine sounds the same. kind of worried me at first. I'm running 10w-40, too.

Big block, Automatic OVERdrive and a way to do it cheaper...

Yes I do. However, I'm not done yet. The car had to get put on the back burner for family and house projects. I'm running the microsquirt trans controller and a us shift throttle position sensor on my edelbrock. I think the trans controller is around $400 with the harness. It is one of the...

Big block, Automatic OVERdrive and a way to do it cheaper...

With the QuickTime housing, I had to convert my input shaft and torque converter to the 300mm, as well as use a hub spacer. If I had to do over, I would not have used the QuickTime housing. That being said, I’m happy with my result.

Big block, Automatic OVERdrive and a way to do it cheaper...

Yes, any 4L60E 98 and up has a removable bellhousing. There are also adapt plates available too. I used a quicktime bellhousing which is set up to be used with the 4L65E (LS 5.3 and 4.8 trans.) I would recommend the 4L65E trans anyways. It's stronger. There is another company that makes...

Big block, Automatic OVERdrive and a way to do it cheaper...

How much fab skills do you have? I built my own 4L60E "kit" for my 71 big block. It's basically the same set up as Silver Sports. I have around $2000 total in the conversion. The only fabrication work involved is making a new crossover mount. I cut mine out of sheet and welded it together. The...

Big heating-problems with 400ci on PLymouth Satellite

If everything else mentioned checks out good, I would look toward the water pump and thermostat. This is an area that you DO NOT want high flow. In cooling systems, you have to get the proper amount of dwell in the heat exchanger. The longer it can sit in the radiator, the more efficient it...

    Muffler suggestions

Here are Magnaflows with 2 1/2 and x-pipe. Magnaflows are not chambered like Flowmasters, therefore they will not drone. If I remember correctly, these are the 18 inch body mufflers. I know, I know, I haven't cut the pipes back yet because I haven't decided how I want them to exit.

    509 Camshaft issues

I was in the same boat as you. I built my 400 with a 509 and a torker intake. After break in, I tried to tune it. Wasn't happening. I tried playing with timing, carb adjustments, even advancing the cam. The max vacuum I could get was 8". I pulled the cam before I even got it on the street and...

    Overheating mystery

You could have to much flow. Slowing the flow increases dwell time making the cooling system more efficient.

Has Anyone Bought & Installed One Of Those Dakota Digital Rally Gauge Sets?

I plan on getting the gauge set for my 71. It looks very simple to wire. All of your wiring goes to the module and then a cable goes from the module to the cluster. To me it seems easier than wiring each gauge individually.

    Weight reduction

I believe there is a company that makes fiberglass fenders for the 71-74 chargers. It might be the same company that makes the hoods. I think its VFN fiberglass. I'm not sure the weight difference, but every little bit helps.

    Need Some Trans Suggestions

Silversport Transmissions has a complete kit but you'll pay around $5000 for it. It's everything from the back of the motor to the rear axle. I built my own. Crossmember - I built my own. Speedo - If you want to use your mechanical speedo, there is an adapter you can use or you can switch to an...

    Need Some Trans Suggestions

There are a few different options you have. You could go the adapter plate route and use a new dodge tranny like a 46re or you can go the Chevy route and have a complete bolt-in "no cutting required" fit with the 4L65E. The newer 4L60E and 65's have a removable bellhousing like manuals do. So...
