1.7 rockers do exist for the Mopar B/RB engines but I would not recommend them for a street type engine. I'm running 1.6 CAT rollers and a Comp XE275HL-10 cam (231/237 @ 110 c/l & .525" lift) in my 383 and they have been good to me so far. With the 1.6 ratio I'm getting .560" lift on the valve...
None of the above. I'm running tti 1-7/8" headers with a 3" dia. exhaust system and Magnaflow mufflers on my '69 383 road runner. I'll be going back to Pure Stock form soon and will run factory manifolds, 2.5" pipe and Magnaflow mufflers once again. Performance vs. price best bang for the buck IMO.
Comp XE275HL-10 flat tappet hydraulic cam with CAT 1.6 aluminum roller rockers (for an effective lift of .560") in my 383. Using synthetic oil and STP additive. No problems to report.
I found 2nd gear in my 1st RR (383, 4 speed, 3.23 open rear end) to be somewhat weak but overall it was a decent cam - especially considering the time it was produced. The Chrysler engineers did their homework back in the day and produced a nice cam that was smooth in operation and delivered...
#1 cylinder on big block mopars is on the driver's side so you need to make sure the rotor is pointing to that plug wire in the distributor. Do you have a distributor wiring diagram? If not just say the word and we can get one posted.
Welcome aboard Blaze. PM me for info on a road runner down here in Orlando if you are interested. I know the owner and can give you all the necessary info. 383/automatic car.
I use POR-15's Engine enamels. No need for primer. I've done a 440 and my present 383 with this stuff and both came out well. You can spray it or brush it. When brushed it will smooth out and look excellent. It is impervious to gas, oil and solvents when dried. The only thing I have found that...
All the bronze colors look great - especially with the black hood stripes. Mine has the T7 saddle/tan interior with F8 Ivy Green Metallic exterior. If I were to repaint today the whole car would be T7. Its a great looking color for both exterior and interior IMO.
If you are just running a stock type setup you should be ok without a plate like that. The factory never installed one. BUT if you are planning on using your old, original flywheel I'd strongly suggest you invest in a SFI approved flywheel by an aftermarket vendor such as Centerforce or some...
The same crank is used for 361-383-400 B engines so using a 383 or 400 crank won't help because it's the same. 440 Source doesn't make a kit for the 361 I don't think but you could always give them a call and double check. The 361 was 4.12" dia. bore x 3.38" stroke. The 383 was 4.25"x3.38' and...
Welcome SFSutton. Next to the '68-'70 Plymouth B-Body style the '73-74's are 2nd on my list. sounds like a really nice car - no matter what anybody thinks! A 360 4-speed is a rare machine and you should be (and I know you are) very proud to own it.
I'm in Orlando so maybe we'll see each other...
