T7 burnished bronze B-bodies

I just had a look at your fender tag picture and the A10 code on the bottom line is most likely for a build date of October 10th.

After the 9th month they used A,B,C for the remaining three months.
 
My coronets original color was the T5, still some left on the lip of the trunk opening. I like that color. There is a 70 Charger around here in T5 also, looks great in the sun.

Hey guys, say I wanted to verify that my engine was the very same engine... the same one the car was "born with" ?

Where do I look for numbers, like a serial number or something?
 
should be a s/n on the left side of the engine- remind us what you have?
 
Trying to find a picture of a T7 B body with a white top. closest I can find so far is this T5 charger built on the show cut chop rebuild.

The last 6 digits of the car's VIN number are on a machined pad on the passenger side of the engine just above the oil pan rail behind the motor mount.

The casting date is cast onto the drivers side of the engine near the top of the block just behind the motor mount lugs.

You'll need to get under the car with a good light and probably some degreaser to read them.
 
Hey check it out... T7 on a charger with a white top.

I can't for the life of me find T7 on a roadrunner with a white top... would it have been a rare combo?

thanks for the engine vin location... I might head out to the garage to look for that now...

might need a damn mirror and a flashlight.

That Mural is aweome. That thing fits right into Hot Rods Street Freak trend which is hot right now. Clean er up and drive the wheels off it!
 
T5 fire bronze.......

Oh god I can't lie... That T5 appeals to me more so than the T7...

I agree..... I ordered my 69 Road Runner in T5 w/Black interior and all tint glass.... NEVER regretted that...!!!!
 
I had no reason to doubt but I was so happy when I saw those stamped VIN numbers on the block...

So freeking cool.

So how do I go about finding out how many 1969 T7 with white vinyl top roadrunners were built? (curious because I cant find another one to see what it's supposed to look like.)
 
Its a big difference knowing that you have #rs matching- im pretty surprised you werent sure
 
All the bronze colors look great - especially with the black hood stripes. Mine has the T7 saddle/tan interior with F8 Ivy Green Metallic exterior. If I were to repaint today the whole car would be T7. Its a great looking color for both exterior and interior IMO.

That's good news.It's also nice to have the original motor as there's a much better chance that all the little hard to find brackets and whatnots will still be there and in there intended location.Makes a restoration much easier.

I forgot to mention that the last 6 #'s of the VIN are also on the transmission so you should be able to tell if you have the original trans and can say that you have all matching numbers if those match as well.The numbers are stamped on a machined pad on the passenger side down low on the trans.

I've spent the last couple days under my RR degreasing the gunky but untouched engine and trans so it's all still fresh in my mind.

Sure would be a neat color combo T7 w/white vinyl. Didn't Mopar call that "White Hat Special" back in the day???

Spring is in the air (well, somewhere at least.... :thinker:). Can't wait to see your project rolling!

Hey propwash, I was so close to listing the crazy bird on craigs list 2 nights ago. It took me hours to write an ad... then I sat and stared at the ad I had written. I pretty much sold the car to myself because I couldn't get myself to click the "publish ad" button.

I went out to the garage and hooked the battery ground cable up, turned the key and pumped the gas. That gear reduction starter noise then the rumble of life... I feathered it along until it warmed up a bit and was able to stumble itself along at a lumpity idle.

Then I just walked around the car, around to the back where those dual trumpets where huffing out a lopey gallop.

I just knew I'd regret selling it for the rest of my life.

It's a driver, actually drives very nicely. My plan is to go after the drivers side quarter with a full skin (not full quarter panel, just a full "skin") then hopefully get by with lower repair panels for the passenger side. Peel the old vinyl roof off, get things nice and straight and shoot some paint. Give it a couple good coats of clear, block it out with 2000 grit and buff it. Then drive the wheels off of it. Get to know it, have some fun with it. Someday down the road I'll put it on a rotisserie and give it the full meal deal.

But plans for now are to fix up a presentable driver, and then drive it.
