Hey everyone: Looking for an incomplete set of P2843177 solid lifters (hollow, with the pushrod seat held in by a snap ring). Maybe you broke a set for a Slant Six and have the 4 spares, or maybe just extras laying around. I need these to complete a partial set I have for a V8 application. Thanks!
Clearance is not a problem as much as having a machined (flat) surface for the lifter to contact IF the valves float (missed shift/driveline break, etc.). I do have the cutters, and a friend has agreed to lathe me up a block bushing to pilot the tooling with.
Just curious if anyone here has ever run or had experience with the only (to my knowledge) Direct Connection mushroom cam offered for small block engines? It's specs are pretty formidable, 324 duration with .633" lift (1.5 rockers) and a 110*LSA. The Mopar Performance books never mention it, but...
The 275HL is the one for you, with those rear gears. I have run the 275HL in a Duster with a MoPar 360 10:1 shortblock (came with the too radical .508" cam, 248*@.050") and Edelbrock RPM heads, and 3.23 gears. Worked fantastic, with a 2500 stall, it had power from bottom to top RPM. I run a...
With the static compression listed, if degreed-in advanced (maybe 108?), it should have decent low end for a cam producing that much vacuum. Tighter LSA would definitely help off idle, but the vacuum won't be there.
The Crane 272-2 (216/228*@.050" 112LSA) hydraulic would give bottom end and good vacuum. Also the small Elgin/Summit white box cam (214/224*@.050" 112LSA) would be a cheaper and milder option. The large Elgin/Summit (224/234*@.050" 114LSA) or Crane 278-2 (222/[email protected]") would pull a little...
