I ended up sending it to Rusty at Speedometer Services in Colorado Springs. It turned out it wasn't repairable. He sent it back to me and didn't even charge me anything, not even for return shipping. I would definitely deal with him again.

Got a 440 Source 7 qt pan on my B motor. Put in seven quarts of oil, spun the oil pump to prelube/fill the filter, and it reads 2 qt low on the dipstick. Is this a normal thing? Not a big deal since I know where it reads when it's full but just curious. It also could be the wrong dipstick since...

I recently tried the Eastwood glass polishing kit on some scratches that I could barely feel with my fingernail. The kit I got was advertised to remove severe scratches. It helped a little but I wouldn't buy it again, not enough results for the price.

To answer the original question I've had good luck with K-Seal. O'Reillys' sells it, probably lots of other places too.

26x8.5-15 slicks. The question is will they fit? I've got 235/70r15 street tires on it and they're a tight fit mounted on the cop car rims. Don't have rims for the slicks yet but from what I've read on here 8 inch wide 4 1/2 backspacing sounds like what I need to look for. Will this work? thanks

Coupler is apart, the cross pin just doesn't want to move. I'll get serious about it and put it in the press.

i'm replacing the lower steering column seal on my 66 Satellite. Does the shaft have to come out of the column or will the cross pin for the coupler press out of the steering shaft? thanks

If that's what you want build it. Personally I've never seen the point in building a copy of someone else's vision, or asking other people what I should do. Just do what you want.
