Oh boy, I do feel your pain. I’m 57 and I have had my 71 since 79. I bought a new tank, tube, straps, and etc. well I F#€Ked with it for two hours. Looked at every thread I could find, finally I put the heat gun on low, lubed the tube with Dawn dish detergent and pushed and pushed till it just...
A BIG thanks to all who replied, I’ve been looking through and researching all the Mini Starters on line. I look for reviews from actual buyers but those have been few and far between. With all things Mopar I get the best answers from this group, I narrowed it down to two starters and I’ll let...
Hey Gang, getting to the end of my third build on my 1st car that I’ve had since 1979. It’s a 71 Satellite Sebring Plus that my dad and I worked on when I was 15. Anyway I want to pick up a mini starter that’s going to give me many years of service. Would you folks be able to recommend one...
Hello fellow Mopar Maniacs, I want to convert from power steering to manual and I am shocked about the differences in cost. Like all of us folk who have to budget our builds Im looking for the best bang for my dollar. Right now I’m leaning toward a PST unit that’s posted and want to ask you what...
Thanks guys for your posts, all super advice. I’m putting in bushings, ball joints, everything that can be changed. Stouter torsion bars, lower control arm plates, torque boxes, subframe connectors, rear springs and such. Everything is original and is tired, the only new thing was a steering box...
I’m starting to put parts back on my 71 Satellite Sebring Plus that I've had since 79 and I really would like for it to handle as well as my truck, haha. What I’m looking for is a total package, bushings, ball joints, tie rod ends, torsion bars, rear springs, and etc. I know all of this has to...
I’m working on a K member right now, all I can say is rust sucks. Tried my impact wrench that gets most things loose, I’m sitting down and having some water and getting out my breaker bar and going back and forth a wee bit, hoping that loosens up the old threads.
Oh yes, although this car hasn’t seen snow since 1983, I ran an old truck during the winter, it was sitting on a Salt/sand pile when I bought it. Eight years prior though I’m sure it ran the salty, winter roads.
Thanks so much for the reply, I had herd they would but I was hoping to hear from someone who tried, if I can’t find a good used one I will go that route. I’d like to do t right as the other three rails are spot on, no rust at all.
I’m working on my 71 Satalite I’ve had since 1979 and while removing the headers I found more rust on the left front frame rail just behind the K member. That rail has been patched once already so I’m thinking I’d rather swap out the entire rail. Looking all over the internet I can’t seem to...
That great, I wasn’t worried about the block matching but my worry is that, it’s tight by the steering box/torsion bars. I’m going follow your link and see what fits. When I got the car in 79 it had headers so I have any clue on how the stock manifolds fit. Thanks
