Both cars will have overdrive (46RH (with BB adapter) in one and Tremec 5-speed (or if can find the extra money for the 6-speed) manual for the other).
Not thought much about gears too much but most likely will be 3.23 or 3.55's (I can build both ratios with parts laying around in my garage).
I...
I am building a pair of stroked 400 engines. One is going into a 4-door and other into a station wagon. Both are ~4000 pounds (not measured). Both cars will be 100% street driven (daily driven) and not raced (except for the seldom but occasional traffic light meetup). A/C and power brakes are...
Corrections (in red):
The Dana 53 was also used in several Jeep models, 1956 Packards, 1949 to 65 Lincolns, 1957 Mercury, 1967-68 C-bodies with 440 4-speeds and maybe (not sure yet) 1967-68 B-bodies with 440 4-speeds.
Did you find one?
If not, I have one http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/threads/67-gtx-heater-case-for-parts-only.120912/ .
I was wanting to sell the whole thing so I can get rid of it, but would consider parting it out.
Not sure if any difference between ’67 and ’68, but pictures look...
I think the question should be: How many of today’s cars, could my Dana 80 make, if melted down?
Each of my rear brake drums weight as much as I do.
Getting back to Dana 53’s in ’67 (or ’68) B-bodies ???
I'm jealous – for that is a mighty fine looking differential you have there.
If you want, I can take the picture down?
The only Dana I’ve ever owned is a Dana 80, that’s in my Diesel pickup – which I think it weighs in as much as what one of today’s jelly beans total weight, is (excluding...
I’m not debating the C-body Dana 53 (it’s well established).
I’m wondering a Dana 53 was ever factory installed in a B-body (’67 440 4speed, or maybe even a ’68, to be exact).
I’ve seen a few ’67 & 68 B-body 440 4 speed cars and seen they had “a Dana” in them – but never knew there “might have...

A Dana 60 (pic swiped from internet)
The Dana 53’s has been confirmed in C-bodies and it appears should also be in B-bodies (and no, not the...
I was looking in my ’67 Dodge FSM (Factory Service Manual) and ran across this in the propeller shaft section.
I noticed three different propeller shaft lengths (for the Dodge B-body) for 4-speeds:
383 w/8-3/4” (blue arrow) 52.03”
426 w/9-3/4” (red arrow) 50.90”
440 w/9-1/4” (orange arrow)...
I have been traveling this Thanksgiving weekend. Home now but taking off again for one more meal, shortly. Sorry for not replying sooner.
So far two people had wrote to me, while I was out driving 1000 miles:
5.7 Hemi and 63SPF (who sent me a PM first).
