Okay full disclosure, lol. I took my original and backup motors apart and just put them back together and they worked. So the motors worked but the unit was not working when installed and mounted. Yup bad ground, looked okay but I sanded away more paint and it worked.

Bought a working motor on eBay and it turns out my motor was bad.

I've used them many times, taillight lenses, hood release cable, ramcharger kit, and many other parts. Also had no issue on returns/exchanges. Always waited for their 30% off sales.

Tried it and it looks like the motor is bad. Will update later with my findings, thanks again.

Trying to diagnose the rear defogger setup, of course it worked before the resto of the car and now it doesn't. I seem to have power everywhere needed and grounded correctly but can't figure out why it is not working. Just wanted to start with the motor, can you simply bench test it? Black wire...

I had hundreds passed down from my father, I kept one, tried to sell some but couldn't even give them away.

If my 72 is like your 74 then you should have two of these clips (this is just one at different angles). I took this out of my original bulkhead to put in my reproduction bulkhead as they are not as good as the originals. I was experiencing the same issue as you.

Are they both the same year? The Petty fender at the wheel opening looks different to me unless it's the angle.

I've watched a few of his builds, always a good watch.
