I found some pretty quickly at performancetireplus.com. Cancelled the three month wait ones at Summit. Running 15x7 on front and 15x8 on back with Coopers. Big improvement over the stock 14 inch wheels. I have those for sale on FB marketplace.
Yes, I've looked. Coker was even worse. I found some on eBay that are made by Legendary Wheel. They have 15x8 ready to ship it appears, just haven't heard of these wheels before.
So I've already bought my 15x7 wheel vintiques magnum 500 wheels from Jegs for the front of my 1974 Charger. I've looked everywhere for 15x8's, and being told October before I could get them. I've noticed 15x6 wheels are available though. Has anyone ran a 15x6 on the front and a 15x7 on the...
That ended up fixing it. Shaft was fine, and the pump spun just fine too, so no lock up. We think it may have been the pressure relief valve stuck. It was the stock pump I believe, still had the mopar part number stamped on it. After 47 years it was time to replace it. Went ahead and...
I'll take some of your oil pressure. Right now my 400 has zero oil pressure. Reason unknown at the moment. I know from my casting number my 400 is from a 76-78 car. It's in my 74 SE that was factory 400. How can I pin down more info on this motor? I would love to know the exact year and...
Also, since I hadn't mentioned this before, my casting number indicates a 400 block from 76-78. I don't think there is much difference between that 400 and one from a 74 car, but wanted to get others feedback that know much more than I do about that.
Sounds great. I actually have a 73 Rivi with that monster 455. 51k original miles and original paint. Sadly it may hit the sell block if I need funds to get the charger fixed. Fingers crossed for an inexpensive fix.
Thanks. Sounds like a great combo and lots of power. Why the TF240? If buying a kit from 440 source, the 470 has 6.535 rods, whereas the 451 has 6.76 rods. Not sure if they would ship the 6.76 in the 470 kit or not.
Yes, 1 7/8. I was going to get the 1 3/4, but they were backordered many weeks and the others were on the shelf, so done. And while I appreciate all the suggestions I'm not wanting to change the gears again, and a 451 or 470 will be plenty of fun. The motor is pretty stock internally now but...
This is a really old thread, but my cart comes up to $1890 with the magnum 500 bulls eye caps and lug nuts included. I'll be curious to see if they can get me down close to $1500 with the mounting and all. If so count me in!
Thanks for the opinions. I have the limited slip diff, installed that when I went to 3.23 from stock gears. Seems if I just moved to some 15 inch wheels I would have many tire options at 28 inch diameter.
New gauge, but yes will be putting another one on it to make sure. Excessive knocking heard, like you would expect from low oil level or no pressure. Thanks.
Agree, at this point going at it like it's an intermediate shaft failure or pump failure. But great to get educated on the plan B if the motor is shot.
