This is how you rough machine a Crankshaft!

Now that was cool to watch. For inquiring minds, that answers a lot of questions.

Proving My Mopar Street Cred... now prove yours

The original owner of the Roadrunner was towing his buddies dragster to the strip on the weekends to race. Imagine towing a dragster with a 6bbl 4 speed. I asked Jerry if he ever raced the RR…..only once. But he was class winner with a 13:17 time. Must’ve been the trailer hitch giving him that...

Proving My Mopar Street Cred... now prove yours

Yes it is. We owned one of those 6 wheel dune buggy’s and we would pull it all over the place with Moms car. The Duster was smaller and underpowered and was not considered our family car. I must have a penchant for Mopars with trailer hitches.

Proving My Mopar Street Cred... now prove yours

Chronologically setup…. 1970 Roadrunner 6bbl 4 speed convertible, dads car, the one that started it all for my brother and I. Pictured in 1970 outside of our house in 1970 Dad traded in the Roadrunner when he and my Mom both got laid off. The trade? 1971 Duster Rallye, 6cyl 3 speed on the...

MAXIMVS is headed to his new home tomorrow... my new (possibly) ride...

Damn, I really wanted to see this R/T, and I was hoping you were in love with it and the sale of Maximvs was cushioned. Time to find the right car for you!

Is 4.5 months prior to car production considered date code correct for engine block?

Well, that’s 1/2 way through the 66 model year, and on a first year engine I would say that’s perfectly acceptable. What’s the assembly date on the pad?

WTB I am in the beginning stage of looking for a 1968 Superbee to purchase.

I just saw a complete 68 Superbee that has been off the road for a couple decades. It’s a project tho, but the first 68 I’ve seen even up for sale in quite awhile. I think it was $10k, but that represents the current condition. It’s not a rust bucket, it just needs to have decades of dormancy...

WTB I am in the beginning stage of looking for a 1968 Superbee to purchase.

Shame you didn’t get to see that one in Virginia, it looked perfect for your wishes. 68 Bees are a pretty hard find, you don’t see too many 68’s. Hope you find one that fits the bill!

Question about round back single field alternator

1961…..wow. I’ll bet it puts out 36 amps. Car wiring back then was so much more simple, and the amps on the early alternators was just enough to keep it running, albeit with flickering headlights. But the old stuff lasts a lot longer than rebuilds from the last few decades. Chances are it’s...

    Rich kid cars.

I grew up in a small farm town, no rich kids in sight. One kid I knew drove a Porsche but it was the ugly long hood short tail car. He was a nice kid and only drove it because he was given the car. I do remember that when the new rock station had a contest to win every single record they had as...

Is 4.5 months prior to car production considered date code correct for engine block?

I had a 71 383 HP block that was cast in 68 and was assembled in 1970 for the 71 model year, so I’m sure a couple months before your SPD is perfectly acceptable.

What did you do today....other than work on your car!?

Forms for the slab for the new he/she shed. Although I promised, no car parts in it. I do get to park my bike in there tho!
