Ive looked at all the links for fender tags and still am stumped as to what it all means, seems Lynch road tags are different from the others. I had to remove mine and turn it over to be able to make out all the stamping. From what ive found this is what I believe it had originally, 383 4 barrell with 4 speed manual. B5 blue with B5 trim. High back blue bench seat. Jamaica blue interior door frames( whatever that means). White vinyl top. I was told the gears are 3.55 and I know its a posi as both wheels turn same direction when off the ground.

Here is a link to an online decoder I have used before. I'm sure there are others out there too. B5 with B7 interior and a white top sure would be sharp.

The 925-503-603 are the lynch rd driveline codes, the above sequence of numbers are gate codes

593= 8 3/4” 3:23 SA (standard axle, no Suregrip) 11” drums, 489 center section, 7290 yoke

603= a833 4 speed, 383/4bbl engine

925= 383-4bbl

I'm glad someone else smarter than me chimed in. That will help me figure out my Lynch Rd tag too thank you !

Thank you, ive been pouring over the codes, I misspoke of the axle being a posi, oh dreaded gm term lol. Some things have been changed, removed. The current transmission is a 3 speed auto 727 for a small block. Previous owner says rear end is 3.55 sure grip. When I get the rear wheels off the ground and spin them they spin in same direction.

these resources can help and are part of the data I use when creating them

Thank you! Every site i visited had incomplete info on these lynch road tags, that is a very good resource. From what ive gathered the early tags had some differences from the latter made tags. Most original equipment is gone unfortunately. Above the color code I have a single 1 W which I thought signified a white vinyl top, it definitely had a vinyl top I have trim holes and a couple trim pieces. After having 3 blue vehicles in a row I wasn't considering B5 blue but it sure is a sharp color. Seems odd that a high trim model would have a bench seat, but that is the code. Also had factory air according to this sticker, must have been an add on under dash as no controls for it on the dash.

Cool find.

Given that some things just don’t quite match and to satisfy curiosity…..

Have you confirmed this tag goes with this car by matching it to the dash VIN and the numbers on the core support and trunk rail?

3:55 gears could have been easily swapped into the rear.

If either the gears or a/c was stock, the tag would show 26 for a 26” radiator. We don’t see that.

Does the car have a 26” or 22” radiator yoke?

Maybe the window with the air temp sticker was swapped in later, you may be able to tell that by the date code on the glass.

One picture shows the brake pedal for an automatic. Is the four speed crank set up still in place? The steering column does appear to be from a manual transmission car.

Yes vin on dash matches. Im not sure on some of your terminology but the opening for the radiator is 22 inches wide. No numbers I see on the core support and I don't know where to look on trunk rail? Anyway yes after all this time many things could have been changed so the window glass sticker might be nothing. I have no engine so im not sure what the four speed crank set up is, I have a lot to learn but im enjoying it.

Core support #s are on the radiator side. Vin number should be on the passenger side lip of the quarter panel, possibly under the weather strip. If your curious enough, crawl in the trunk and look up at the lip. Probably get a mirror image, like looking at the back side of the fender tag.
There's probably a date code on the front of the k-member.... but I don't remember how to read it.

Lynch road is famous for not putting much on the fender tag, but still, that is a stripper version of a rr. Should have the upgraded interior, cause it's a hdtp.
A coupe with the upgrade interior would have a code on the tag.

Should be a 335hp version of the 383, painted orange, Carter carb.

The B7 is the color of the top inside metal part of the door, above the door panel.

It does not look to be an A/C car, and no “26” on the fender tag would indicate that it did not have a 26” radiator. And of course the coil would not be mounted there, and the ECU is about 3 years before production of electronic ignition began, and would not be mounted there anyways.also, no A/C controls on the dash, nor are there any A/C ducts in the dash either. Definetly not an A/C car.

I like em stripped down, so I don’t mind that, but that craptastic red paint job has got to go!

I will have to check for those numbers.
