Oil on intake mating surface- is this normal?

Well I pulled off the old valley pan and gaskets. I was wrong in my initial observation - there are 2 paper gaskets; one on each side of the valley pan. I put the new manifold (its not new, I've had it for some time) on the bare heads. Clearance is .000 to .008 between heads and manifold. These...

Oil on intake mating surface- is this normal?

The engine was built by a pro. The block was decked but I don't know how much was taken off. Enough to get the compression right. The bolts did not have any sealant on the threads. There is one paper gasket on each side and it is on manifold side - nothing on engine side. New manifold (Holley...

Oil on intake mating surface- is this normal?

400/512, Trick Flow intake, Trick Flow 240 heads. All parts installed new out of box. Low mileage engine, 300-400 miles since built, probably less. Putting smaller intake on so hood can go back on. When I removed Trick Flow intake there was oil on the intake/head mating surface. Oil is on both...

    Oil foam in diff normal

After 24 hours of cover off that stuff is still in the gear. Oil looks like its contaminated with something. Cant be water. Car has never seen rain or wet road since restoration. Never made noise. Strange.

Where can I find this air intake?

Saw this on a car I think at the Nationals this year. Could not hook up with the owner. Is this a custom setup? Anyone know where I can get one?

Help needed to get car to mid 11's

Thanks all I will get some good tires and go from there. I didn't want to get into the suspension too much if I didn't have to. There's a reason I need this et and the less I have to do to the car the better. Frank

Help needed to get car to mid 11's

What would be the correct type and size of rear tire? Slicks? Drag radial? No problem changing tires at the track but a street legal tire would be fine with me - if it will work to get to 11,5. I'm also concerned about the rear springs. I really don't want to change them. I've read that others...

Help needed to get car to mid 11's

Have a 68 Charger that I want to get to 11.5 in quarter. I don’t know what the car weighs but should be a few hundred pounds less than stock. The car has: 400/511 440 source stroker 600HP/650TQ at 4500 RPM on pump gas 727 (sportsman series) built by Protrans. Billet internals, reverse manual...

Oil pan recommendations for street/strip 70 b body

I replaced my 7 quart Milodon with a 440 source 6 quart hemi pan and 440 source pickup. The Milodon pan was too low and I put a hole in it. The 440 source pan was delivered damaged. One of the corners was bent up like the pan was dropped. Because time was an issue I repaired the pan instead of...
