I thought about doing that same thing but was just easier to wire then install. for sure with the headers

I have Dakota starter on 440 and 400 block. Wire direct to starter terminal and everything fits, however, on both engines I had to attach cables to starter before starter was installed on engine. No way to get to terminals with starter installed on car.

I looked at my paperwork and batteries new in 2022. I did the cables in 2023. Never added water to batteries. What I don't get is why only one terminal. Coke works good on this too - the kind you drink. I like agm batteries and at next replacement will do that. Thanks fellas Frank

I agree with jcc however you may have issues with alt belt slipping with that 512. A serpentine system would fix that
