New fly wheel did not have a recess on the back of it so flywheel no longer interferes and rubs on the inspection cover. The old flywheel was the issue but still don’t know why that old flywheel was used or what it’s from.
This care seemed to have taken some abuse, as they all did. Never understood why someone would paint the springs and the rear end white but whatever.

Yes. I even bought an actual 11 inch inspection cover to make sure it wasn’t the re-pop. The reconditioned factory inspection cover wont even go on unless we take the bell housing off and then it fits like glove.
bellhousing and inspection cover are both original Chrysler parts and 11 inch.
The repop inspection cover is painted black and 11 inch and fits the bellhousing but touches the flywheel.
The second inspection cover is a reconditioned factory part in red primer. It wont even align with the bellhousing for the screws to go in. Appears the flywheel is in the way.

Just Bought a new, “reconditioned” inspection cover and this one won’t even align with the bellhousing holes. But it will mate up perfectly to the bell housing when the bell housing is not on the block.
