yes bigger plenum hurts a little torque down low and throttle response and picks up a little hp in the upper rpms. i tested 5 intakes on the street and you can find an old post of a member testing ch4b and I think a performer and weiand. it helped less than a tenth in a 1/4 mile I think it was...

there is the rpm performer but not if you need hood clearance. had to mill my rpm carb top plate a 1/4 inch for hood clearance.

i would do the M1 dual plane and have it ported. my cast iron i ran was ported and was way better then the ch4b and performer which were no better than stock.

i was running a 750 edel with 2.94 gears that ran great. every so often off the line it would hesitate if the intake wasn't heated fully no big deal. wanted to try the 800 AVS2 big difference off the line and at lower rpms i would say 30 HP or TQ difference not sure which one. not much if any...

an opener spacer helps 75% of the time a 4-hole 10% of the time and will only help mostly for throttle responses and low rpm. that is right from Big Joe engine masters king and dyno king who was testing spacers since he was 16 years old.

if it's leaking around the throttle shaft it will be harder to rebuild. i take it you're not impressed with your avs2 carb ?

if you have a stock engine with decent flowing heads from the factory and then take the stock heads and mildly port them. then put them on the same stock engine will there be a HP gain and or will the peak TQ and HP move to a higher rpm.

duration is fine but would go with 1.6 rockers with that low lift cam.

my point was you need to have an additive in there. ford or gm ac-delco are better than the chrysler additive. do not use synthetic lube. what weight is the lucas ?

did you put the sure grip additive in.the gm one is the best.
