well then we can get some real data. what carb are you taking off ?. they say you need at least a 15 HP difference to feel it in the seat of the pants.
trying to get an idea how much power I will pick up going with TQ over my 800 AVS2. plus trying to find a good one and then doing all these mods to the TQ.
am talking about the adapter that covers part of the opening because the intake was made for Q-jets too and the square bore Edelbrock needs the adapter else you will get a vacuum leak
make sure you are checking the total timing at least at 3800 rpms with vacuum disconnected. if still at 24* then before recurving the dist I would set the base timing at 20* giving you 32* total. The total with vacuum hooked up will give you 48* for cruising which is fine.
if that is a fresh rebuild I would not be too happy. if that is an older rebuild yes i would be happy. warm would be more accurate was it a warm or cold engine compression reading.
most likely nothing to do with plugs unless it's the gap itself. post 23 more needed information came out saying he already changed plugs, what ignition, doing vacuum readings and checking in the dark.
I would still try a set of new plugs even the cheaper 85 just to eliminate the basics. did you check the timing with a light to see if the timing is jumping around at different rpms.
