Thanks for the reply , yeah that’s the info I was after thanks
I’ll probably go with 15 x 8’s then with either the current tires or switch to 275’s
Shame those wheels don’t come in a better backspace , bit weird they only make them in 3.75” and 4”
thanks
Took some more pics today
So just to clarify my car in the pic below on the rear has
15 x 8
3.75” Backspace
295/50/15 tires
The wheels I want I can either go for exactly the same as what’s on there , eg 15 x 8 with 3.75” BS and use my current tires
Or I’m tempted to go 15 x 10 which has...
ok thanks so you don’t even think a 15 x 8 with 3.75” backspace will work ? With 275/60/15’s
I currently in the pics above have 15 x 8 with 3.75” BS and 295/50/15’s no rubbing
I know the 275’s are narrower but they are taller tire than the 295’s but hopefully that shouldn’t cause any...
Thanks for the replies
You don’t even think they would work with the 275/60/15’s then ?
I guess I’m best going for the 15 x 8 instead ?
So makes you wonder what cars American Racing make these 15 x 10 with 4” BS wheels to fit then ?? As B Bodies are quite roomy in the arches
Thanks
I’m buying some new AR Outlaw 1 wheels this week hopefully for my 69 Coronet but I’m undecided on the size for the rears
Currently on the car I have
15 x 8
3.75” backspace
295/50/15’s
Please see below pics
Either side there is about 2” clearance between the edge of the tire...
I took a measurement and there seems to be 6.5" from the hub to the wheel arch lip
The current wheels on the rear are 18 x 9.5 with 5.75" backspace with 265/40/18 tyres
With the current tyre on there is about 1.5" between the edge of the tyre and the wheel arch
This is my current wheels, 18 x 9.5 with 265/40/18's on the rear, not sure on the backspace though, their website lists them as available in 6.75" , 5.75" or 5.25" so i'll have to take one off and check
With the current wheel off any idea what measurements I need to do in the arch to see if...
I'm buying new wheels for my 70 Satellite, for the rears i'm a bit unsure what tyres to fit
I'm getting 15 x 8 for the rear but they have a 3.75" backspace, ideally I would like 275/60/15 but do you think that size would rub ?
The fronts i'm going with 15 x 7 with 225/70/15 I think, also 3.75"...
Because that is a shorter tyre than my current fronts and I can’t afford the car to go any lower because the cut outs will hit on bumps , I need a tyre as tall as the ones currently on there or taller
Think i'm going to go 15's
Pretty sure on the rear....
15 x 8 with 275/60/15 with 3.75" backspace
15 x 7 front with 3.75" backspace but i'm a bit unsure on the tyres, I need a fairly tall tyre because I can't go less than my current ones which are 26.3" tall because any lower the cutouts will...
Thanks for the replies, Davek your pic on the left with the slightly jacked up look at the rear, what combo was that ?
Also if going with 275/60/15, would 15 x 10's fit ok or is best to go with 15 x 8 ?
Any pics of 70 profile tyres on the rear ? Thanks
I did test fit some 14’s I had spare from a Mustang but they were stupidly too small and made the car sit way too low
They were 14 x 7's all round
Rear ----- 245/60/14
Front ---- 215/60/14
Hi guys, first time posting here, i'm from London, England, I just bought a 70 Satellite and I want to replace the wheels as I don't like them and I think they look too modern for the car as I prefer the old school drag racing look with more of a high profile fatter tyre and higher rear end etc...
