    Midland booster rebuild

Oh and it stops way nicer now, very little pedal pressure. I let it go too long.

    Midland booster rebuild

Add a new gasket and it's ready to go. This is one of the tough parts, hard to see in the picture but there is a small spring that goes along that pin where it goes in the rod. I bet it is an anti rattle spring. This is out of my parts car, I did not take the linkage off to R&R the booster...

    Midland booster rebuild

About 10 years ago I had this booster redone by an individual, I guess I won't name him but he is well known for his lack of customer service. I shipped it to a state just north of Texas. After 3 to 4 months, numerous calls, I finally got it back. Installed and it would not hold vacuum for...

Anyone still have their High School ride?

I bought my first car, this 74 Road Runner in July of 1980, When I was 15. I graduated in 1982 so I had it Junior and senior year. My mom took this picture the day after I bought it. I did sell it in 1987 for the down payment on my first house. I had another Road runner by then so I never...

List your car-related pet's names here.

Not really car related but this stray cat showed up in our tractor shed. I named him "Shaun of the shed".

    318 conneting rod

All connecting rods are finish honed to size. Use a magnifying glass to line up the hone marks on the cap and rod. When you get the right cap on the rod it will be obvious.

A great option for LED bulbs in taillights.

I just put a couple in the 73 Road Runner. I used Standard products flasher EFL1, worked great. I did have an issue, could not get the bulb to turn in the socket. The white housing was hitting on the plastic around the bulb housing. Had to slightly bevel the edge, I used the die grinder not...

    Poly 318 4 barrel intake

I put a 4bbl on a 65 318 pickup. Here are a couple pictures of the linkage. The throttle spring bracket is from a LA318, just cut a leg off it. The throttle spring came from a can of parts I have, no idea where I got it. It was originally a 4 speed so the trans linkage is a combination from...

How overfilled before problems on 727 and how best to drain a bit?

1/2 pint over wouldn't bother me. If you want to drain some just pop the speedo housing out, it has an O ring and will seal up when you put it back in. If you need more out then jack up the front.

How to remove inner seal in speedometer gear housing?

Yup just a slip ring with slight tension on it. I used to work at a GM dealer rebuilding automatics and in the late 80's they had a lip seal in some of the cars, came with all the overhaul kits. I believe it is for late 80's camaro, don't have a part number right now. I would throw all the...

Maintenance on the 73 Road Runner

The Road runner has been sitting in the shed for about 3 years now. Had a trans am in the garage that needed a few things sorted out. I got it out, put the trans am in the shed, put gas in it and it fired up pretty quick. Gave it a quick wash job and went to town. When I got back popped the...
