Thanks for the quick reply! I googled some images and see what you mean - look twice and it is quite a difference in that corner.
I reckon I'll have to go for the 4 door seals and know I'll have to modify them as necessary:(
Morning!
Just getting to ready to paint the rust repairs on my 1966 Belvedere Wagon, but the door rubbers (on the doors themselves) are really bad.
Are the rear doors on a sedan the same as on a wagon? RockAuto don't list a wagon separately - I'm looking at their Metro rubbers and RockAuto are...
Thanks Jim,
Your photos were awesome. Fitted, tested and adjusted it numerous times - they're heavy things!
I don't suppose you have a photo of the interior trim on the tailgate, Jim? I had a piece of aluminum rivetted over the inside, and I'd prefer it looked a little bit more original...
This has been a labour of love! These tailgates really know how to rust:(
First coat of primer filler to see how the bottom edge looks - lots of correction to do, but slowly getting there.
Work in progress!
Thanks again,Jim 68Cuda, your measurements have been a life saver!
It is in really bad shape, but slowly getting there with limited tools!
Hi Jim,
When ever you get a chance, could you let me know the measurements in the photos below? And a couple more photos of the corners. You don't realise how
useful these photos have been!
Thanks again,
Gerry

Wow! Those photos are excellent. Thanks :)
I doubt there is another decent Belvedere tailgate out there (!) and I'm in the UK, so a double-whammy. My wagon isn't ever going to be a concours winner, so I'll fabricate well enough for a decent repair. Your photos will be a real help:thumbsup:
After my electric rear tailgate motor finally packed in, I had to strip the whole lot so decided to investigate the bad body repairs at the bottom. The attached is the horror I found! A LOT of Bondo, and no metal.....
Has anyone tried this repair, or got any pictures of a removed tailgate that...
Not sure of this will be of use to anyone, but finally solved the problem. Moral of the story is check and check again!
Turns out I had done everything right, but the aftermarket harmonic balancer the engine builder had given me was the wrong one
A lot of research found that Pro Sport have...
