Must have been a massive job... I don't know why they would have done it in the first place... The paint is really thick even in 2024 - I reckon many coats would have been required... That would have been a lot of hours and a bunch of paint :)
A great point... Under the hood is black... Not sure why they repainted the trunk... I suppose most drivers open the trunk a lot more often than the hood... Thanks for your advice :)
Thank you mate for cracking the codes for me.
All of these features are on the vehicle (the tinted windshield being the only exception - obviously windshields require replacement from time to time.)
Some others have said it was originally finished in black (X9). If it was finished in X9, I...
Thanks for your reply. I originally thought it could have been a 383-4 with the twin pipes. I guess that was standard at the time for the 383-2. Probably a good thing because we have to pay $12 US per gallon at the moment... From what I have read the 383-4 used even more gasonline.
Thank you...
Thanks for your help mate... I think I will turn it back to black when I save enough $$$... I think it would look awesome in the original X9.... Have a great day :)

I can work out it's a 383-2b with cloth seats, but that's about it...
It also has Newport Custom badges on the car, but I thought Newport...
As an unknowledgeable Australian, does that mean something like March Madness...
Or did they actually make some convertibles with the 4 barrel 383?
Grateful for your advice.
Thanks - I think you are right. I don't think any convertible customs were even made. I think the custom badges have been added, along with the twin pipes.

Why do you guys in America think the 383 wasn't a great motor? This thing goes hard...
