I need some pics of where the metal strips were placed on the heater hose for the above car. I know how the hoses run and the metal support is located on the RH inner fender. I have 2 metal strips that were included with my heater hose kit and want to use them as this car is being restored as...
Yes the box is in 2 halves, but I would NOT recommend trying to do that in the car. It took 2 people to get mine back together and that was on the bench and it was still a major effort to get the top lip set properly on the front half of the box and then line up the screw holes.
Thanks, yes I just need lowers. I'll check them out.
You're not too far from me, I live in Greencastle just below Chambersburg. If you're ever up this way, stop by.
In need of a lower ball joint grease boot for '69 B body. Moog put the wrong one in the box. I already called them and that was a terrible experience. Horrible customer support. I will not buy any Moog parts again. Used is fine too if in good condition. Thanks
Looks original to me. Cutouts on the sides are correct.
Nice solid car like the one I'm working on now. My project( '69 500 convertible) is a California car. Floors are almost as clean as yours. When I dropped the tank I found just a very small amount of light surface rust. Easily cleaned up...
Awesome. Mine took some persuasion too.
Now the fun part of restoring the heater box itself. Take LOTS of pictures. Thankfully the one I restored had never been touched since it left the factory so all original. Just got it installed yesterday as I'm hoping to get the engine/tranny/k-frame...
If you look down inside the stops/tubes, there are 2 tabs that help to hold the stop in place. If you can get an angled pick down in there and bend them out of the way a bit, the stops should be able to be slowly worked up off the tubes. Some WD40 or similar lubricant will help also as there may...
Can't comment on the vendor for the evaporator. I cleaned, flushed and re-installed the original one in the car I'm working on.
I ordered a new H valve from a company(can't remember who) but after receiving it and seeing "made in you know where", I pressure tested the original one and it didn't...
Ordered a new rebuild kit and pressed in the new bushing today. Had to polish it a bit with some 600 sandpaper and the shaft then went in nicely with no binding. These are split bushings so my guess is it compresses just enough to cause it to bind. Lesson learned. Got it all together and painted...
