Good to see folks talking about this car.
In reality what ‘is it’ actually?
A clone or a rebody?
All in all a wonderful car,,, if the problems were sorted out by a pro Moparman or Lady!
Vintags only matter when you come to sell...
If you buy a DuD then it’s best to keep it quiet (in my world)...
Beautiful Gtx, moperedtn!
I’v Been telling everyone about this camshaft and how good it is and then I read “ the engine went bye bye”.
Please tell me that didn’t happen!
My sincere commiserations if that happened from a fellow Gtx owner.

Lots of UK V8 guys converted to Gas, not the liquid form lol.
It was popular with the Rover brigade, all aluminium ex Buick engine from the 50’s.
It may be the way forwards for the future of UK Mopars?
OMG Moparsrul, that was a tragedy.
So sorry for your loss and my heart goes out to you.
I don’t how I would feel in your position.
Sure hope someone steps up and saves the Satellite.
I would in a heartbeat if I was local to you.
I had my 65 Satellite stolen from outside my unit some twenty...
That’s a great story if she did go 200+!
Thought about doing that in my 69_Charger500 but folks said it was was too hard with a street car…
I take my cap off to anyone who achieves that tremendous milestone.:drinks:
Truly awesome Greg!
You should get an award from NASCAR for finding and rebuilding this ultimate Mopar!
Your attention to detail is beyond perfection.
Best wishes from lockdown Limey
Nice video but, it’s a street car kinda set-up.
Car is high off the road surface, with a huge spoiler that would scrape the ground on a race car.
With that size spoiler, a flat front ‘aka C500’ with moved forward lamps would have worked real good methinks...
The 71 recreation got well messed up!
I have a great love of fuselage cars especially 71/72’s.
I saved a 71 Gtx from the crusher back in the 90’s because folks just don’t understand them...
So what went wrong with the 71 birdie?
The nose is way too high, as anyone that knows about AERO will tell...
Nicely written piece Dragon Slayer!
I found several sets of ‘old race heads’ with varying degrees of ‘porting and repairs’. Most were unusable for any kind of street engine, so took the plunge and went Mopar Aluminum.
Supposedly a copy of the 65 Alcoa head, or some such first gen casting?
That...
Nice reply Cojo.
The sub-seven litre engines were seen as the ‘performance motors’ and the later 440’s just truck engines lol.
The Ford 406 was bored to 427 and was pretty much at its limit, but the 413 has been bored to 440 size and still stay together...

And the 426 is not a 0.060 over bore 413...
Thanx for the reply 66.
I was talking about VB’s that are removed from the trans.
You have to take them apart to see if they are modified, but the old B&M VB I have, has a B&M separator plate but no info, part number etc.
So how do tell if they are reverse pattern?
Everything else is fairly...
Now that’s a worry because my Moparmate is rebuilding his ex-Barton 572 with a 4.150 crank and and 9.5’s to keep the costs down after it went ‘bang’...
The dragon-slayer 4.500 crank broke into three pieces...
Some folks think it was running too much comp on cheap race gas!
Oops:nutkick:
Max wedge is a very exclusive club indeed!
Obviously most folks want the 426ci for obvious reasons, it’s the holy grail of Mopar!
But in 62, The Lawman beat Dino Don in a heads-up race that got Mother Mopar into drags...
Yep back then Dino Don was ‘king of stock’ and Al beat him up good with a...
