    All better with solid state regulator. Runs a lot better in cool weather too. It used to sound like an old "Johnny Popper" John Deere.

    I have replaced alternator and voltage regulator and problem persists. Start the car cold and it charges as it should. Increased rpm =increased amps, put a load on and it compensates. But after a few minutes of driving or idling ammeter flips to discharge. Increasing Rpms or electrical load...
