    Starter Relay

Mystery Solved....Ring gear broke away from the flywheel. The starter was spinning the ring gear around while the flywheel remained stationary. That is why everything looked right but sounded and acted like the starter was bad. The intermittent spinning of the ring gear one time then catching...

    Starter Relay

The flywheel ring gear teeth are in good shape. The starter is mounted flush all the way around that I can see. While looking at the flywheel I saw a cup in the bell housing that I would think receives the starter nose to ensure proper alignment. Is there a way to check the starter gear under...

    Starter Relay

Could the starter relay cause the starter to spin but the solenoid not to engage? Looks like the starter is spinning and hitting the flywheel teeth but just not enough to fully engage. I put a volt meter on the solenoid terminal and read 12.7 volts when the key was turned. Also replaced a bad...

1970 Roadrunner grille texture and paint

My plastic grille looks to have a "weathered" dark argent louvered center section framed with light argent. There are a few spots where the paint has come off and black shows through on both colors. I have few questions. 1)since the grille has a lot of texture, does the paint have to be removed...

    air in brake system

Dako, You were absolutely correct about bleeding All wheels. By looking at the amount of fluid that was lost disconnecting/reconnecting the brake line I was floored when bubbles came out of every wheel cylinder and caliper. This old car stops like a Viper now. I will not make that mistake again...

    air in brake system

No, Just the replaced caliper. Pulled hard line at the hose connection and capped immediately with minimum fluid loss. Reverse on install. Hose and caliper were mounted before hardline. Hardline was uncapped and installed again with minimum fluid loss. I would estimate fluid loss at most,a...

    air in brake system

I cannot bleed the air out of the brake system after a caliper change. 1970 Roadrunner with power disc/drum brakes. The car was originally a manual drum brake car. I added a factory booster, master cylinder, metering valve, combination distribution/proportioning valve and calipers. Brakes worked...

    brake valve 1970 roadrunner

Sounds good. I appreciate the link. I looked at them for a brake kit a couple years ago but got a deal on an original B-Body disc brake set up. Forgot all about them until your reply. I will give them a call tomorrow. Thank you.

1970 brake system part number verification

Does anyone have a parts book that can tell if combination brake valve # 3549947 was used for 1970 B-Bodies? An original mopar training "slide show" on youtube shows a combination valve being used from January 1 1970. I have a valve that is stamped "3258924" "3423936" which I am told is...
