1970 Roadrunner grille texture and paint

My plastic grille looks to have a "weathered" dark argent louvered center section framed with light argent. There are a few spots where the paint has come off and black shows through on both colors. I have few questions. 1)since the grille has a lot of texture, does the paint have to be removed to remove the spots where the paint has come off. I do not want it to look like I pained over a low spot. If the paint does have to be removed. 2)how to remove the original paint and maintain the texture. 3) how to restore the texture that is missing in a small spot. Thank you

Try soda blasting it and paint with argent silver. The texture will be unaffected.

The texture is in the paint, not on the plastic.
