That would be interesting….. i could never do that on my GTX but I have thought about doing something similar on a different project I have. I agree the dual snorkel looks cooler and I’ve wondered why the 440 cars didn’t use them and went with the trap door instead.
I prefer the orange also but in 73 it should be blue, same as 74. I’m not sure on a 74 but definitely in 73 the 440’s came with a single snorkle, the 400’s had the dual.
That’s the real problem when dealing with rust. If it’s on the outside, it’s on the inside. Until you fully expose it, you can’t fix it. Hoping you are actively looking for other places that aren’t rusted thru currently that are rusting from the inside out. You don’t want to do this again in...
curious how that works as compared to a standalone stump grinder. I use a backhoe to dig my stump/root balls out, but have always wondered what kind of performance you can get out of a stump grinder attachment on a skid steer. Be careful of debris coming towards you if there isn't a shield to...
After looking at RR fan Dan's project post and all of the issues he is having I decided to go back to the post I created about my car that unfortunately wasn't well received by many, including Dan and realized just how special my car is with NO rust damage other than a very small spot on the...
How do all of the inner structures, rockers, frame rails and floors look. I would want to do a very thorough inspection to verify the car's "bones" look solid. All of the damage shown looks to be mainly superficial to the core of the car. Usually when they look like this there is a lot more...
You can use a stud gun and a hammer and dolly I would suspect, it’s only metal. I haven’t pulled one apart to see how accessible it is but with the panel removed I can’t imagine it would be to bad. I personally would totally disassemble the car if my goal was to repair it. You dont want to...
I would agree with that suggestion if you're confident it's an original sunroof car. I'm not a sunroof fan but being original, it does make the car more "special"
I was curious if your panel itself was damaged. Ironically, my car's only rust spot is a little over a dime sized and it's in the front corner of my sunroof panel. I didn't know if that was a typical issue.
Guess that's why finding a unrestored original paint car is so special. Unfortunately, this is what the metal looks like on a very high percentage of "restored" cars. I would love to hear the story of why there was so much damage on the panels, that's not typical. Does it look like the...
I glossed over the part about the headliner, I would definitely do that 1st. As mentioned above, that sounds like the most efficient order of operations based on previous experience with other makes and models.
