Nah, not a fan of Galen. I won't elaborate. Again, I'm not a purist nazi by any stretch. In fact just the opposite. If you you don't believe me check out the mess I made here 68 RM23 Roadrunner, The rebuild of an old friend
I do allot of shows and 68's always catch my eye. I have never seen a 68...
Not trying to give Mike / Charles a heart attack here. Would just like to see what the option code on a build sheet looks like. With the plethora of fine photo examples that have been posted surely a broadcast sheet exists somewhere. Especially with all these pristine one owner cars storied...
I think you're missing the point Charles. No need to get butt hurt. Just trying to verify if this was a factory option or not per the OP. So far the responses say no, it was not an option on a 68/69 Road Runner.
After market add on? Probably.
Exactly. Still haven't seen any proof, fender tag or build sheet, that this was a factory option. My guess is that they were available as an after market add on from somebody.
Still.... they look like @ss IMHO.
God we are a bunch of old F@ckers debating rivets and punch marks. Get out and do a tire scorching burn out in these machines once in a while.
Good for the soul.
Thanks 69. Good intel. I get the 999 paint code Chuck or is it Mike? My bad.
I Learn something new every day. However I'm not seeing that code on Chuck's half shaded Petty blue fender tag unless I missed it.
For everyone's benefit it would be interesting to see a fender tag or build sheet associated with this option. I just took a look at my build sheet and there are a few spots to where this option could have been coded.
Any of you fender tag / build sheet gurus out there know?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a dick head purist. Let's at least try to be directionally correct here. If the 999 code is correct then a build sheet or fender tag should show that, right? Along with rocker panel trim, right?
Again, this thread is about rocker panel trim. Available or not...
Please make me look stupid Charles/Mike. A 999 paint code is Bahama Yellow available on the 69 Charger I believe. See below and help dial me in. Surely if you are the second owner of this all original car you have at least a fender tag or build sheet?
Just trying to sort out rocker molding trim...
Not trying to argue with you Charles but I have never, ever, ever seen that on a first gen. Maybe a 70. Especially not on a 68. Is that your car? Builders choice perhaps? Petty blue 68?
Would be interesting to know how you claim it was an option. Build sheet? Fender tag?
