Thanks I will try those diagrams,, I was wondering if I ground the green wire it will make the alternator put out its full charge? I noticed that on a you tube video, but I thought it might burn out the wiring. Currently at 800-1000 rpms voltmeter shows 12vdc...

Case is grounded to firewall and engine block. What I am confused about is the alternator wiring which is correct

There was a bad diode but I replaced the alternator and ran a test with a good one but still got the same results so I thought I might have the connector on backwards but have not tried with wiring switched

Battery fully charged that's what's the alternator output

But why does my voltage still goes up and down with my RPM's up to 13.5 when I raise over 2000 and 10 volts at idle 800 or so RPM's

Recently upgraded my 68 Roadrunner for electronic system and replaced wiring harness, but I am having problems with the charging fluxuating with RPM's I mounted a new VR QS 8313 and replaced alternator with a Duralast DL75334 to increase amps, but cannot get it to stay steady. I was wondering...
