Still hoping to find one of these if someone has one lying around. Have had a couple PM's, just priced a little on the high side for me.

    WTB 71 72 B-BODY VAPOR CANISTER

Looks like I'm desperately needing a new vapor canister. Mine has small rust holes in the bottom corner and apparently leaks a little fuel from time to time. Anybody have one lying around by chance? My car is a 71 Roadrunner but Im sure all b-bodies are the same. I believe 71 and 72 only.

    No Start Issues. Again!!!

Thanks again fellas, car's are always much more fun when they work...lol Thanks Bee, she was a turd when I got er, but about 8 months of hard work and other than a non-working tach, she runs like new. Didn't even pull the motor out, restored her where she sits, never has been rebuilt as of yet.

    No Start Issues. Again!!!

Thank you fellas, as much as I wasn't gonna let anybody tell me it was my bulkhead as 3 of the 4 harnesses are new. The new engine harness had a wire not crimped into it's connector anymore and was hanging loose. She fired right up...lol Bee1971, you called it buddy. Thank you all for the...

    No Start Issues. Again!!!

With the key in the run position I don't see any power at either side of the ballast resistor. Light doesn't seem to light up in any of those 4 positions.

I did test it with my light, it is not on when the keys in the run position. It does however light up when you turn to the start position.

    No Start Issues. Again!!!

Okay, sweet. I was gonna say, I did have one just hanging there hooked up once and it seemed to work just fine...lol

    No Start Issues. Again!!!

Surely I shouldn't have to scrape the new paint off underneath the ballast resistor? I don't recall it being bare metal underneath it prior to me repainting it. I don't imagine there's any way to test the starting voltage at the coil without someone actually sitting in the seat and turning the...

    No Start Issues. Again!!!

Oh and most ballast resistors I'm using cost $40, are SUPPOSEDLY made in the USA and match the original in appearance. If that helps any.

    No Start Issues. Again!!!

The ignition switch is also new. As per testing the coil voltage, I live by myself, so I'll have to get a buddy to come over and turn the key while I test it. But I'll post those results once I have them. As per point gap, I can't recall, but it was whatever was original, I'm thinking .016 or...

    No Start Issues. Again!!!

Me again fellas. 1971 Roadrunner, 383, all original. So, originally you all helped me figure out that I had a bad ballast resistor. Car worked well for a little while, then pulling it into the shop and it dies. Appeared to be the same issue, it acts like it wants to start when turning the...

    71 ROADRUNNER NO START ISSUES

If you haven't replaced the ballast resistor, I would start there. Mine slowly got worse as time went on, replaced the ballast and it starts way better than it has in some time.
