Very very nice, looks like new!!

I would be buying some green alligator shoes and a fur hat to complete the 70's pimp look :glasses9:

There are a couple nice ones on Akron/Cantons craigslist right now. Beautiful car! Enjoy.

Here's the history of the car.

The car was originally driven as a demo by Buzzy Doering(Joe JR of Doering Motor company). It was sold with 10,000 miles in 10/78 to one Alfred O'Brian. Upon his passing in 1979 the car was traded to Buzzy's Doering's cousin Professor Ralph Boeck for a Buick Skylark + cash. His wife didn't want her son to have such a high profile car at the age of 16. Professor Ralph Boeck passed away in 1994 leaving the car to his daughter and son in law Richard Tanin. They owner the car for 19 years. Collectable Automobile magazine will have picture of it in a Richard Petty article, the July 2013 edition accord to Richard. They flew in to take pics of it a couple of months ago. He decided to sell it since he is '72 years old and wants a new Challenger.

Cool story, Doering now there's a name I haven't heard in awhile!

Cool car and the hat is awesome. I hope you wear it while driving for the complete look.....

Just kidding about the hat... Very cool and rare car.

I remember seeing them on the used car lots and kick myself for not picking one up...glad you did though!

Thanks for the welcome. Here are a few more pics, before some mods begin... I wish I could have made the show on Sunday, but my back hurt way too bad.... I was told I would have won the surviver class.

That's what I thought... Their emblem can stay, it's in good shape, looks good and makes people think.

I've been thinking about what to do to it. The 2 barrel and the lean burn has to go. It runs nice now, but nice doen't cut it. This is a rough idea of my plan.

I figure a Lunati voodoo cam, MP valve springs, an eddy performer intake, dual exhaust and a dist conversion with an orange box.

Other then that a ralleye dash, MP XHD rear springs, some wheels and tires should do it. A 3.55-3.91 gear with a limited slip too.

Need to go over it from bumper to bumper too. The hoses are original as is almost everthing else.

That's about it other then details. It's missing the varible wiper switch knob and a XE emblem too.

It sure is a nice driver.

Now that's exactly the look you need.

Perhaps a bit of this too -

Forgive my ignorance, but is that a 318 or 360 under that hose nightmare?

Those mods planned will wake the engine up for sure! Just don't go too big with cam in a low compression motor. Consider headers too to get the most benefit out of what you plan.

I love that car!
